Guitar Maintenance

Tips on how to clean, store and keep your guitar looking like new.

Cleaning
When cleaning your guitar always use a soft flannel cloth and a small amount of warm water.  Approved sprays and cleaners can also help to enhance the shine. Never use chemicals or abrasive cleaners on a guitar.

Storing Your Guitar
Guitar Imports recommends storing all guitars in a hard shell case. A hard shell case will prevent your guitar from scuffs and scratches.

Humidity Levels
You will want to keep your guitar in a comfortable humidity level.  Too much humidity can cause warping, and too little humidity can cause the guitar to crack. In dry climates you may want to use a guitar humidifier. The ideal humidity level around 50% RH (±5%). Guitar Imports recommends a hygrometer to measure the temperature and humidity levels of the area where your guitar will be kept.
